This trailer for the animated program Ben & Izzy previews an episode set in Egypt, featuring Ibn al-Haytham. He is introduced as "a scientist who was known as the "Father of Modern Optics."

According to the synopsis provided by the producer, Rubicon Group Holding, "Ben and Izzy meet Ibn Al Haytham, a gifted scientist who pretends to be crazy in order to deter the wrath of the caliph. The boys are looking for the scepter of Ramses II, and Ibn Al Haytham gives them a clue on how to find it by using optics."
